April 2017 Board of Directors Meeting

Windsor Manor, Wednesday Evening, April 12 -- Loren Heckathorne

President Fenn was absent; Vice President Jerry Radke ran the regular meeting and the Board meeting. There was no business during the regular meeting.

The Nevada Lions Club held its regular Board of Directors meeting, Apr 12, 2017, in the Windsor Manor dining room. Vice President Jerry Radke called the meeting to order at 8:25 pm and acted as Chairperson, with the following members present:

Carlene Hunter Paul Malsom Willy Morfitt
Jerry Radke Sandy Richardson Mike Seaboch

Secretary Heckathorne read the minutes from the Mar 8 Board meeting. John Beals made a motion to approve the Minutes as read, Second by Bob Hunter. Motion passed.

Treasurer John Beals presented the financial report. Bob Hunter made a motion to accept the financial report, Second by Mike Seaboch. Motion passed.

For Bills of Account, John Beals mentioned that Windsor billed March meals at $126.50, but Board approval is not necessary.

For old business, Jerry explained the Thrivent Grant. Apply for the grant 21 days before a fund raiser. One and only one Thrivent member can apply, to get $250. This is an action grant, where the person applying for the grant must work during that event.

Scholarships were tabled, since no member of the committee is present.

John Beals reported for the Nominating Committee. New slate of officers is: President, Jerry Radke; 1st Vice President, Susan Radke; 2nd Vice President, Paul Malsom; 3rd Vice President, Mike Seaboch; Treasurer, John Beals; Secretary, Loren Heckathorne; Lion Tamer, Carlene Hunter; Directors, Elijah Hansen (1 yr) and Terrance Beaston (2 yr); Tail twisters, Charlie Lloyd (1 yr) and Charlene Hunter (2 yr); Public Relations, Willy Morfitt; Web Site, Jerry Radke; Facebook, Elijah Hansen; Membership, Bob Hunter.

Secretary Heckathorne made a motion to make Mike Miller is a new member or our club, Second by Mike Seaboch. Motion passed. Mike's sponsor is Terrance.

Bob Hunter introduced the idea of a new fund raising project -- selling popcorn. Where and when were yet to be specified. Possibilities are in front of a business or in front of city hall, when the Community Band plays. We may want to sell a drink with that - perhaps, bottled water? Bob will look into it further and come back with a proposal.

Jerry read a letter from United Way, about a video for $100. We declined doing this.

Willy Morfitt made a motion to adjourn, Seconded by Bob Hunter. The meeting was adjourned at 8:50.
