August 2015 Board of Directors Meeting

Windsor Manor, Wednesday Evening, Aug 12 -- Loren Heckathorne

The Nevada Lions Club held its regular Board of Directors meeting, Aug 12, 2015, in the Windsor Manor dining room. President Charlene Jarboe called the meeting to order at 8:10 pm and acted as Chairman, with the following members present:

John Beals Jim Fenn Loren Heckathorne
Bob Hunter Charlene Jarboe Steve Jordening
Jerry Radke Susan Radke

Secretary Loren Heckathorne read Minutes from the July 8 Board Meeting. Motion was made by John Beals, Second by Bob Hunter to approve the Minutes. Motion passed.

Treasurer John Beals presented the monthly Financial Report. Steve Jordening moved to accept the financial reports, Second by Susan Radke. Motion passed.

No bills were presented. Charlene charged at Fareway for both the picnic and the Youth Exchange Feed.

We decided to charge $1 each for the directories. This will go to Jerry to offset his expenses. He had to use 4 printers in order to complete the job.

Jim Fenn reported on the banner. He looked into aluminum banners, but decided against the idea. Steve made a motion to get two banners, one for the float and one for the recycling trailer, Second by Susan. Motion passed.

John Beals brought up the Kidsight children's book, which is intended for children being screened. We declined to purchase any of these books.

Pancake Day is Sept 13. John said we need a two week notice to get sausage from Burke. Burke usually donates 40 pounds. We decided to get 50 pounds to be sure we don't run out. It was noted that Jayson Kingsbury has our Pancake event folder. Gates Hall is reserved from 7 am to 1:00 pm and we will serve from 8 am to 1:00 pm.

President Jarboe brought up the Lincoln Highway Days parade. We've always had a float in the LHD parade. We discussed how much candy to buy. Steve Jordening moved that Jim should decide how much candy, and do the candy purchase, Second by Jerry Radke. Motion passed.

Bob Hunter is going to write an article for the paper during Willy's absence.

No report on the Youth Exchange Feed. Also, there was no report on the Picnic.

President Jarboe mentioned the Flower Power Fundraising brochure, but there was no interest.

There is a request for eyeglasses. Since Willy is gone for several weeks, LaNair Niblock will evaluate the request.

We adjourned at 8:40.
