Windsor Manor, Wednesday Evening, Feb 26, 2014 -- Loren Heckathorne
Reports were given during the regular meeting. John Beals and Charlene Jarboe reported on the Pancake Feed. We served 218 people and took in $1671 in gross receipts. Expenses were $34.90 and $118.56 in supplies and $440 in rent. It was noted that we ran out of food. First, we ran out of pancakes, then out of eggs, too. Several people only had sausage and eggs, and later, two didn't want just sausage. It was also noted that we ran out of regular syrup.
President Radke reported on the upcoming Pancake Day, which is scheduled for April 27 at Gates Hall. Bob Hunter reported that the Paper Recycling truck is nearly full.
Jason Kingsbury was in charge of the program. Jerry KcKim spoke on LIHEAP (Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program).
The Board meeting was convened after the program. The Nevada Lions Club held its regular Board of Directors meeting, February 26, 2014, in the Windsor Manor dining room. President Jerry Radke called the meeting to order at 8:08 pm and acted as Chairman, with the following members present:

Secretary Loren Heckathorne read Minutes from the January 22 Board Meeting. Motion was made by Steve Jordening, Second by Susan Radke to approve the Minutes as read. Motion passed.
Treasurer John Beals presented the Financial Report. There were questions and answers about this Report. It was noted that the Scholarship Fund, at Edward Jones, is project money and the interest paid from this Edward Jones account is project money. Afterwards, Charlie Lloyd motioned and Charlene Jarboe Seconded approval of the Financial Report. Motion passed.
The following Bills were presented: two from the Christmas Party: poinsettias $29.36 and mugs $21.40, and two from Valentines: room rental $50.00 and caterer $160.00, which is 16 meals at $10 each. Motion to pay the Bills by Steve Jordening, Second by Bob Hunter. Motion passed.
Motion made by Charlene Jarboe, Second by Charlie Lloyd to make Lions contributions the same as last year, which are: LCIF $50, Iowa Lions Foundation $350, Diabetes Awareness $100, Leader Dog $100, Puppy Program $100. Motion was made to amend this was made by Steve Jordening, Second by Charlie Lloyd to drop the Iowa Lions Foundation contribution for now. Amendment passed. The amended motion passed.
President Jerry Radke passed around an e-mail from Centerplate Food and Beverage Service. This is a fundraising opportunity at Principle Park, during Iowa Cubs games. This idea will be studied further, but no motion on it tonight.
Next, our upcoming Pancake Day was discussed. Since we ran out of food at the Pancake Feed, Charlene will get more of everything to be sure that we have enough food and supplies.
Charlene set up a Zone Meeting for Lions Training at the Chamber of Commerce this coming Monday, March 3, 2014. Starting time is 7:00 pm.
Eldon Weber will be the program on March 12, who will discuss the Pizz-a-thon. Greg Baethke will be the program March 26, who will discuss Information Technology in Nevada High School.
The topic of new members was discussed; however, but there are no new members at this time. Motion to adjourn by Charlie Lloyd; we adjourned at 8:46 pm.
