January 2008 Board of Directors Meeting

Lion Line

The Nevada Lions Club held its regular Board of Directors Meeting in the Board Room of the Story County Medical Center January 7, 2008 with Janice Schmidt hostess. The meeting was called to order at 7:09 pm by President Charlie Lloyd who acted as Chairman. The following members were in attendance:

Motion to approve the December 3, 2007 minutes made by Jerry Radke, seconded by Steve Jordening. Motion approved.

The Treasurers Report for December was presented by Bob Hunter. Motion to approve made by Steve Jordening, seconded by Duane Stansbury. Motion approved.

Thank you letters were received from Marilyn Argotsinger for her Christmas present and from the School Nurse for the $200 for food baskets.

Bills presented for pancake supper December 7, 2007: Janice Schmidt $42.32, Fareway 62.13. Gates Hall for regular meetings 120. Motion made by Steve Jordening, seconded by Paul Malsom. Motion approved. The sausage was donated by Burke Marketing. The Secretary will write Thank you letters to Burke and Fareway.

The Treasurers Report for Calendar year 2007 was presented by Bob Hunter. Motion to approve the report with understanding that Bob will attempt to find the difference of $148.45 difference between the check book and ledger made by Steve Jordening, seconded by Duane Stansbury. Motion approved.

The Christmas party was discussed and all comments were very favorable, especially the entertainment arranged by Jim Fenn.

The annual Pancake and Sausage Day will be March 30, 2008.

Thank You letters were received from the American Legion Flag Fund, Sam May, and Heidi Borton.

Jerry Radke noted that the club's 60th anniversary will be in May.

The next Board Meeting will be February 4, 2008 with Bob Hobson as host.

Motion to adjourn made by Duane Stansbury, seconded by Willie Morfitt.

Meeting adjourned at 7:59 pm.
