January 2010 Board of Directors Meeting

Lion Line

The Nevada Lions Club held its regular Board of Directors Meeting January 4, 2010 in the cafeteria of the North Campus of the Story County Medical Center with Janice Schmidt as host. The meeting was called to order at 7:04 pm by President Janice Schmidt who acted as Chairperson with the following members present:

A motion to approve the minutes as read was made by John Beals, seconded by Loren Heckathorne. Motion approved.

A motion to approve the Treasurer's Report as presented by Loren Heckathorne was made by Bob Hunter, seconded by Jerry Radke. Motion approved. Report attached.

Bills presented: Jim Fenn, $50 for center pieces for Christmas Party; Bob Hunter, 29.61 for paper sacks for recycle truck. Motion to approve payment of bills presented made by Jerry Radke, seconded by Charlene Jarboe. Motion approved.

Loren Heckathorne reported that there were 30 people including the entertainment at the Christmas Party and we had reservations for 42.

Willie Morfitt reported on the KidSight Retakes by Bob Hunter, Dick Smith, and himself.

The Secretary read a letter from the Nevada School nurses thanking the club for the gift certificates for the Christmas food baskets for needy families.

The District Governor will be at the January 13 meeting. A motion to give the District Governor a $25 gas card was made by Bob Hunter, seconded by Jerry Radke. Motion approved.

Action on a letter received from Krysilis was postponed.

A motion to pay the registration fees, $10 each, for attendees to the Mid Winter Conference was made by Jim Fenn, seconded by Bob Hunter. Motion approved.

Pancake Day will be March 28.

The February 1 Board Meeting will be hosted by Bob Hunter and the March 1 Board Meeting will be hosted by Jim Fenn.
