President Jarboe read thank-yous for our Lions Club. The Nevada School Nurses thanked us for the Gift Cards, and Kathy Goecke, the Elementary School Principal, thanks us for Kidsight screening. We received two thank-yous for our Lions contributions: One from Leader Dogs for the Blind and the other from LCIF.
Lion Jim Fenn will be gone for about 2 months. Mike Seaboch and Elijah Hansen said they would pick up the papers and perform work in and around the trailer while Jim is gone.
It was mentioned again that Leader Dog wants a contribution at the beginning of the year, instead of one at the end of the year. We took no action on this.
President Jarboe brought up the Valentines Party as a topic, which will be held Feb 10. Charlene and Susan will work on a location and a caterer. First, Charlene will talk to Gatherings Restaurant to see if that location is possible.
Pancake Day will be held in April this year and will be held on a Sunday morning again. Charlene will check the Community Calendar to see which Sunday will be best.
With so many Lions resigning, there are a number of programs that must be re-assigned. Willy already did Jan 11, so Bob will now take Jan 27; Susan will take Mar 9; Charlene will take Apr 27 and also May 11.
Willy reported on glasses and hearing aids. We assisted with 7 pairs of glasses and 2 hearing aids this past year. Also, Willy picked up 900 pairs of used glasses, from our various glasses drop boxes.
There was a motion to adjourn by Bob Hunter and we adjourned at 9:00 pm.
