Windsor Manor, Wednesday Evening, June 11, 2014 -- Loren Heckathorne
It was noted before the program that Lynn Harris has resigned. His effective date is July 1, 2014. His resignation was accepted with regrets. He turned in his cap and two Lions shirts.
Steve Jordening was in charge of the program and also was the program. He described his trip to Yosemite National Park and the hike up to the top of Half Dome.
The Board meeting was convened after the program. The Nevada Lions Club held its regular Board of Directors meeting, June 11, 2014, in the Windsor Manor dining room. President Jerry Radke called the meeting to order at 8:00 pm and acted as Chairman, with the following members present:

Secretary Loren Heckathorne read Minutes from the May 14 Board Meeting. Motion was made by John Beals, Second by Susan Radke to approve the Minutes as read. Motion passed.
Treasurer John Beals presented the Financial Report. He explained that three $25 memorials were sent for our 3 departed Lions. For Dick Smith, the memorial was sent to Food at First; for Jack Argotsinger, the memorial was sent to the Argotsinger Scholarship Fund; and for Wes Ebert the memorial was sent to the Iowa Lions Foundation. Also, the $100 check for the Puppy Program was finally cashed.
For Bills, the Windsor Manor bill of $188.00 was noted, but doesn't require approval. A bill for Lions Magazine subscriptions was presented for $18. Susan Radke motioned and Willy Morfitt Seconded to pay the bill. Motion passed.
Lynn Harris' resignation was mentioned again. Secretary Heckathorne was asked to send a letter of acknowledgement to Lynn Harris.
Our Lions scholarships were given to Elizabeth Kloewer and Sadie Backoff. Sadie sent a thank-you and is going to attend U.N.I. this fall.
The report on the Ice Cream Social to attract new members was put on hold until Charlene returns. Also, there was no report on the ISU Dining (Odyssey of the Mind) fundraiser at this time. Likewise, a discussion of other ISU Dining opportunities was also put on hold.
The Lions Youth Exchange Sweet Corn and Bologna Feed is set for Monday, July 14, between 5 and 6 pm.
A few notes for the 4th of July parade. Paul may not be there to wear the Lions costume. Jim will get the float ready and Willy will drive.
The topic of another location for Pancake days was briefly discussed. The Lutheran Church kitchen is being remodeled. There were no other ideas at this time.
