The Nevada Lions Club held its regular Board of Directors Meeting June 1, 2009 in the Meeting Room of the Nevada Public Library with Loren Heckathorne as host. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm by President Jerry Radke who acted as Chairman with the following members present:

A motion to approve the minutes of May 11, 2009 as read made by Bob Hunter, seconded by Janice Schmidt. Motion approved.
Loren Heckathorne reported the Administration Fund has $3,395.24, the Project Fund has $3,257.27. The bank balance is $6,792.51. Motion to approve the Treasurer's Report made by Charlie Lloyd, seconded by Charlene Jarboe. Motion approved.
Bill presented: Bob Hunter, $29.38 for paper sacks for the paper recycling project. Motion to pay the bill made by Willie Morfitt, seconded by Charlene Jarboe. Motion approved.
Janice Schmidt reported that Rebecca Dubberke received the Ray McDaniel scholarship and will be attending Iowa State University and Ashlee Nagle received the Maliet scholarship and will be attending Grand View College.
Lion Club members served breakfast four (4) mornings and dinner five (5) nights for Odyssey of the Mind at Iowa State University.
A motion to credit the Lions that missed the May 27 regular meeting to serve the dinner meal at ISU was made and seconded. Motion approved.
Charlene Jarboe has called the International Youth Camp Chairman about serving dinner one night.
Oriole Ridge at Hickory Park has been reserved for July 22 for Family Picnic night.
Jerry Radke, Loren Heckathorne, and Dick Smith attended the Zone Meeting.
Jerry Radke reported that the District Governor Elect will conduct the installation of officers at the June 24 meeting.
John Wheelock has had three stents and will have the fourth one.
The July 6 Board meeting will be at the home of Bob Hunter and the August meeting will be at the home of Charlene Jarboe.
