The treasurer's check book balance was $4130.50. The following bills were presented: 1) Paul Malsom for District 9x7 Convention expenses = $20, and 2) Jean Bodensteiner for District 9x7 Convention expenses = $15. Lion Duane moved to pay the bills, seconded by Lion Steve, and passed. A bill from Smitty's is still outstanding due do a question of the correct amount to be paid.

Lions Jean and Paul reported on the District 9x7 Convention. Lion Ray Halterman was elected Vice District Governor and the District Governor is still to be selected. Lion Halterman recently lost his 25 year-old son in a house fire. A sympathy card will be sent. Lion Dean reported that Lion Bill Tipton's wife, Ruth, is suffering from terminal cancer. A card will be sent to her as well.

Lion Jean reported on the ISU dining room fund raiser 22-24 May 2003. We are set to work the breakfast and dinners which will raise approximately $565.50. Lion Dean moved to put the money earned into our Administrative Fund. The motion was seconded by Lion Paul and passed.

We have a request from the family of Brittany Sheeler for $50 so she can attend Camp Hertko Hollow. Lion Jerry moved to pay $50 to Camp Hertko Hollow, seconded by Lion Dean, and passed. Lion President Jim will notify Jan Hathaway at the school on the change in the scholarship amount. There was a question on whether to keep the scholarship investments and savings separate since the Maliet scholarship has a principal of $14,000 and the McDaniel scholarship has $11,000. Lion Jean moved to subsidize the only the McDaniel Sholarship at the present time since there is enough in the Maliet savings to cover the Maliet Scholarship. The motion was seconded by Lion Dean and passed.

Lion Jean will not be attending the International Convention this year. She will attend the State Convention. Lions Paul, Jerry, and Loren are thinking about it. Dean needs to order more check blanks. Lion Paul is checking the supply catalog for favors, banners, etc. He will report at our next board meeting. There was discussion about making the Publicity Chair a board member. Lion Jean moved to do so, seconded by Lion Dean, and the motion passed.
