May 2007 Board of Directors Meeting

Lion Line

The Nevada Lions Club held its regular Board of Directors meeting May 7, 2007 at the home of Steve Jordening. The meeting was called to order at 7:02 pm by President Willie Morfitt who acted as Chairman with the following members in attendance:

Motion to approve the minutes of the previous meeting by Jerry Radke, seconded by Loren Heckathorne. Motion approved.

The Treasurer's Report was presented by Bob Hunter. Motion to approve by Jerry Radke, seconded by Charles Lloyd. Motion approved.

Bills presented for payment: Gates Hall $540.00; Central Iowa Printing 20.10; Nevada Journal 72.00 for Pancake Day. Motion to pay bills as presented by Susan Radke, seconded by Steve Jordening. Motion approved.

Meal for Lions International Youth Camp on July 19 was discussed. Forty youth and 14 adults are expected. They requested that we have something other that sweet corn and bologna.

Jerry Radke reported that ISU requested that we remove our web page. The domain name is available for $35 for 1 year or $88 for 5 years.

Motion authorizing Jerry Radke to purchase the domain name for 5 years for $88 from was made by Steve Jordening, seconded by Paul Malsom. Motion approved.

Jerry Radke reported that Boone will host the June 16 Cabinet Meeting.

An invitation was read from the Ames Breakfast Lions Club to a joint officer installation.

A Thank You letter from Kelly Sheets was read.

A request was presented for funds to help rebuild the softball field complex. Motion not to donate to the cause made by Steve Jordening, seconded by Charles Lloyd. Motion approved. It was noted that we had built the old dug outs.

A date of March 30, 2008 was suggested for Pancake Day.

Motion to adjourn by Duane Stansbury, seconded by Susan Radke.

Meeting adjourned at 8:05 pm.
