The Nevada Lions Club held its regular Board of Directors Meeting November 3, 2008 at the home of Bob Hunter. The meeting was called to order by President Jerry Radke who acted as Chairman with the following members present:

Motion to approve the minutes of October 6, 2008 as read was made by John Beals, seconded by Jim Fenn. Motion approved.
Motion to approve the Treasurer's Report as presented by Loren Heckathorne was made by Janice Schmidt, seconded by Jim Fenn. Motion approved.
Bills presented: Bob Hunter, paper bags for paper recycling, $30.56; LaNair Niblock, candy for Sight Night, 22.40. Motion to pay the bills presented was made by Dick Couser, seconded by Janice Schmidt. Motion approved.
Motion to donate $100 to MICA for Story County Community Dental Clinic was made by Janice Schmidt, seconded by Bob Hunter. Motion approved.
Sight Night was held in conjunction with Safe Trick or Treat Night in down town Nevada. Had a Leader Dog puppy present with Vice District Governor Jerry Roland and a good attendance.
The paper recycling truck loading is looking good. It was suggested that someone check street signage and talk to other clubs about the project.
Paul Malsom reported the School Kitchen is reserved for the pancake supper Dec. 12. We will start serving at 5:00 pm and charge $5.00.
Prospective member night will be January 28, 2009.
The 9MC Convention will be November 15 at Bondurant.
Motion to donate ten $50 Christmas baskets was made by Bob Hunter, seconded by Janice Schmidt. Motion approved.
Motion to donate $5.00 to Midwinter Conference for silent auction baskets made by Jim Fenn, seconded by Bob Hunter. Motion approved.
Motion to give a $50 gas card to Jean Bodensteiner as a farewell gift made by John Beals, seconded by Willie Morfitt. Motion approved. Bob Hunter will get the gas card.
