The Nevada Lions Club held its regular Board of Directors Meeting October 1, 2007 at the home of Charles Lloyd. The meeting was called to order at 8:05 pm by President Charles Lloyd who acted as Chairman. The following members were present:

Motion to approve the minutes of September 4, 2007 was made by Jerry Radke, seconded by Bob Hunter. Motion approved.
Motion to approve the Treasurer's Report was made by Susan Radke, seconded by Janice Schmidt. Motion approved.
The bill from Iowan Lions for President's plaque and Lion of The Year plaque totaling $95 was presented for payment. Motion to pay bill was made by Willie Morfitt, seconded by Duane Stansbury. Motion approved.
Bob Hunter and Jerry Radke will report on the project and administrative funds at the next Board Meeting.
Puppy Fest was attended by Susan Radke, Jerry Radke, and Don Williams. The number of puppies at the prison continues to increase.
Susan Radke reported that the USA/Canada Leadership Forum stressed Extension and Retention.
District Governor Susan Radke requested $15 to buy a book for a door prize at an event to be held at Blank Children's Hospital. Motion to approve was made by Duane Stansbury, seconded by Paul Malsom. Motion approved.
Motion to participate in the Safe Trick or Treat Night on main street was made by Dick Smith, seconded by Bob Hunter. Motion approved.
Janice Schimdt will Chair Safe Trick or Treat Night.
Susan Radke reported that she had been contacted about sponsoring Leo Clubs in the High School Special Ed Class and Nevada Middle School.
Motion to approve $100 for each club sponsorship contingent upon School Board approval was made by Willie Morfitt, seconded by Charlene Jarboe. Motion approved.
The next Board Meeting will be November 5, 2007 with John Wheelock as host.
