October Board of Directors Meeting

Lion Line

The Nevada Lions Club held its regular Board of Directors Meeting October 10, 2011 in the South Room of Gates Hall. The meeting was called to order at 7:27 pm by President John Beals who acted as Chairman with the following members present:

Steve Jordening Paul Malsom Loren Heckathorne
Jim Fenn Dick Smith

A motion to approve the minutes of September 12, 2011 as read was made by Steve Jordening, seconded by Charlene Jarboe. Motion approved.

The Treasurer's Reports for September and October were presented by Loren Heckathorne. A motion to approve the reports was made by Bob Hunter, seconded by Steve Jordening. Motion approved.

Bob Hunter reported he had misunderstood the driver concerning the weight of the load of paper last month and instead of approximately $1,200, the amount was $915.

Paul Malsom had gotten plastic totes to collect papers at some locations.

Charlene Jarboe reported that she had placed an exhibit at the Leadership Nevada Conference.

Downtown Trick or Treat Night will be October 28 from 5:30 pm until 7:00 pm.

Motion to approve $50 for Charlene Jarboe to purchase candy for Trick or Treat Night was made by Steve Jordening, seconded by Jerry Radke. Motion approved.

Bills Presented: Paper sacks, $9.52; Gates Hall 180.

Motion to approve the bills presented was made by Steve Jordening, seconded by Charlene Jarboe. Motion approved.

A bill for $120 for Chamber of Commerce Dues was presented with no action being taken.

A motion to approve $250 for the Christmas Dinner decorations and entertainment was made by Steve Jordening, seconded by Bob Hunter. Motion approved.

The second meeting of the month will not be held in November and December.

Jerry Radke reported that 141 children were screened for KidSight. He also reported that seven (7) ISU Lions Club members have been trained.

Motion to adjourn made by Charlene Jarboe.

Meeting adjourned at 8:11 pm.
