The Nevada Lions Club held its regular Board Meeting at the Janice Whaley home on March 1, 1999. The meeting was called to order at 7:35 p.m. by President Susan Radke who acted as chairman, with the following board members in attendance:

The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. The treasurer's balance of $3,540.13 was read and approved.
The secretary presented the following bills:
Lions Clubs International - New Member $ 35.71 Lions Clubs International - Calendars 34.13 Nevada State Bank & Trust - Pancake change 150.00
Lion Jerry Radke moved to pay the bills as presented, seconded by Whaley, motion carried.
Lion Jerry Radke moved to pay expenses not to exceed $100.00 for zone chair Janice Whaley for District 9x7 Vice District Governor for 1999-2000, seconded by Horine, motion carried.
Lion Harris reported that he and Lion Niblock audited the financial books for 1997-1998 and found them to be O.K. Lion Carman moved to approve the audit, seconded by Stansbury, motion carried.
Lions Pancake chair Halverson reported March 19 project proceding O.K.
Lion Fenn presented a plan for Lions street sign. Lion Jerry Radke moved to proceed with the sign project with a limit of $250.00, seconded by Carman, motion carried.
President Susan Radke reported on the following:
- Reported on meeting night change survey: nights wanted - Monday 3, Tuesday 4, Wednesday 9, Thursday 3. Nights not wanted - Monday 3, Tuesday 2, Wednesday 1, Thursday 1, Friday 8.
- Read a letter from Mrs. Barb Ball of Nevada needing glasses only. She had an examination from Dr. Voss in Ames and paid for it. President to check with Dr. Neff in Nevada. Lion Horine moved to pay up to $75.00 for glasses, seconded by Harris, motion carried.
- Read a letter from Lions Blind Summer Camp in eastern Iowa wanting help. Tabled.
- Read a letter from Lions International Youth Exchange camp in Madrid, IA. They need $50.00 from each club or feed 40 students one meal.
Lion Fenn mentioned a new project to earn money could be to put on a casino event at parties.
The April 5 Board Meeting will be in the Hobson home.
Meeting adjourned at 9:09 P.M.
April 9 and 10 - District 9x7 Convention in Madrid IA. Nevada Lions need a good turnout.
May 21 to 23, 1999 - Iowa Lions State Convention in Davenport, Iowa.
June 28 to July 2, 1999 - Lions International Convention in San Diego, Cal.
