Lions Charles Lloyd, Dick Smith, and Loren Heckathorne are scheduled to meet on 3 May to select a list of scholarship winners. We will pay the winners directly as usual but ask the winners if they want payment delayed until 2001 for financial eligibility purposes.

Lion Jan Whaley was congratulated for being elected District Governor. Lion President Loren Heckathorne asked what support we could give her. Lion Jan requested to have her meals waived while she is District Governor and suggested that our club sponsor a hospitality room for the 2001 District Convention. Lion Dean moved that we waive Jan's meal charges for meals that she misses while District Governor. Seconded by Lion Steve and the motion was approved.

Lion Dick presented information for those working as ISU parking lot attendants while students are moving out of their dorms later this week. Lion Jerry reported that the Habitat for Humanity home being built in Nevada is progressing nicely. He and Lion Dick Smith have helped with the construction on several occasions. Lion Angelo reported that Per Mar will be providing security for the ISU football games this fall and will send us information later.

It was decided not to have another Guest Night this year but to encourage members to bring guests to our remaining meetings. Officers Leadership Training for our zone will be 30 May 2000. Lion Jan will conduct the training and ask Zone II to join us. The training will be at the State Bank & Trust meeting room unless we need a larger room.

Lion Jerry suggest that we consider giving more awards to members in the future. It would be nice to have favors to give to our programs. Lion Jerry passed around the Lion catalog. Lion Jerry moved that we recognize Lion Everett Carman as club "Lion of the Year", immediately seconded by Lion Dean and passed unanimously.

Lion President Loren read information about another potential ISU fund raiser. The Brass Rail will resume catering our meals starting in June. Gates Hall will start renovation after 20 November 2000 and we will have to find an alternative place to meet and to store our equipment.

Lion Angelo raised several questions concerning the August Chicken barbeque. After discussion Lion Dean moved that we order 375 chickens again and that we expand the size of the barbeque grill. Lion Bob provided the second and the motion carried.

Lion Steve Jordening will host our next board meeting at his home on 5 June 2000 starting at 7 pm. Lion Dean moved that we adjorn. Lion Steve seconded and we adjourned at 8:23 pm.
