NEVADA LIONS CLUB

50 PROUD YEARS OF COMMUNITY SERVICE

Volume 1, Issue 6 Lions Newsletter January 1999

IN MEMORY

On Monday, Janaury 4 we said good-bye to Lion Jim Johnson. He had been a Lion, a member of Memorial Lutheran Church, the VFW, and the American Legion. I know that anyone who knew Jim respected him and appreciated his friendship. He will be missed. -- Lion President Susan Radke

Fish Sale

Lions Everett Carman and Bill Horine researched fish markets and came to the conclusion that the probability of making a profit with a fish sale was very minimal. They reported the prices we would have to pay leave no room for a satisfactory mark-up, and it was decided at our January Board Meeting to discontinue our fish sale. If any Lions have lucrative fund-raising ideas, please share them!

ENTRANCE FEE WAIVED!!!!

Effective January 1, 1999 through December 31, 1999, all Lionesses and spouses of Lions who are invited to become members will have their $25 entrance fee or $30 charter fee waived. Our District Governor Betty Babberl encourages all clubs to pursue this avenue for new members. She included a "Special Entrance/Charter Fee Waiver Form" in her January newsletter. Lions and Lionesses, consider this opportunity!!!!
